Editions, price and pre-order bonuses

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 costs $59.99 digital in the US, and 7,980 yen digital or 8,980 yen boxed in Japan. There is one edition, digital or physical, with textured foil packaging on the first physical print run; there is no collector's edition, and pre-order bonuses differ by country and store.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2 costs $59.99 for the digital edition in the US, the only US price on Nintendo's own pages as of Oct 14, 2026. There is a single edition of the game, sold as a download or in a box, and the first physical print run comes in special packaging: the end of Nintendo's trailer of Sep 8, 2026 shows the Nov 5, 2026 date and then the boxed game with "Textured Foil Cover Art", "Special Packaging" and "Available While Supplies Last". Nintendo lists no collector's or special edition of the game. In Japan, Nintendo sells the download for 7,980 yen and the package for 8,980 yen, tax included. When the game comes out is on Release date and time.

Prices

Nintendo's own pages give two sets of prices as of Oct 14, 2026: $59.99 for the digital edition in the US, on Nintendo of America's game page and its Direct recap of Sep 8, 2026, and 7,980 yen (download) and 8,980 yen (package) in Japan. Nintendo of America's page for the physical copy (product 125697) shows "Releases 11/5/26" and a Find retailers button, but no price.

The press has reported $69.99 for the US physical edition since the Direct. gameranx, closing its breakdown of Sep 9, 2026, puts the digital version at $60 and the physical version with the limited foil cover at $70, and says it will most likely buy digital. Cat with Monocle reported the same $69.99 on Sep 8, 2026, and Nintendo Everything updated its price report that day to say "This is now official. The game will cost $60 USD digitally and $70 physically" (Nintendo Everything, Sep 8, 2026). Nintendo had not shown that price on its own store when this viki read it.

Prices in the UK, Canada and Australia did not appear on Nintendo's pages read on Oct 14, 2026, so this page does not give them; check the Nintendo UK page or your region's eShop. Nintendo UK notes that an eShop pre-order is paid automatically from seven days before release.

Editions

The remake comes in one edition, with no collector's edition, deluxe edition or bundle with the game, as of Oct 14, 2026. The download is 24.5 GB: Nintendo's UK page for the game gives that "Download size" when read on Oct 26, 2026 (Nintendo UK page), matching the 24.54 GB that Nintendeal found in the eShop's back-end data on Oct 25. Nintendo of America's store page still shows an estimated 27 GB and warns that the size "may not be finalized at time of preorder" (read Oct 26, 2026); leave about 27 GB free to be safe. The boxed game's first print run has a textured foil cover, while supplies last; Nintendo's box image carries an ESRB Everyone 10+ rating.

Nintendo has not said whether the physical edition holds the full game on its card or is a Game-Key Card, which only unlocks a download. No Nintendo page read on Oct 14, 2026 says either.

Pre-order bonuses

Most pre-order bonuses are set by each store, not by Nintendo. In the US, Nintendo itself added one for the download: its eShop page, read on Oct 23, 2026, says "Get a digital wallpaper as an early purchase bonus!", a Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary wallpaper (read again Oct 26, 2026), for buying the digital version before Nov 23, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT, so it covers the first weeks after launch as well as pre-orders. The wallpaper is sent after the offer ends, through a My Nintendo link mailed to the email address of the Nintendo Account that bought the game. Notebookcheck, reporting the offer on Oct 22, 2026 from Nintendo of America's post on X, found no matching bonus for the boxed game in the US beyond its foil cover. Nintendo Everything had reported no US store bonus on Sep 22, 2026. What stores have announced, as reported by Nintendo Everything and Japan's GAME Watch (updated Oct 9, 2026):

Store Bonus
United Kingdom Nintendo Store UK Replicas of the three Spiritual Stones (Kokiri's Emerald, Goron's Ruby, Zora's Sapphire) in a display box; sold out at one point
Canada EB Games Holographic slipcover in the style of the Nintendo 64 box
France Micromania; FNAC A wallet and the Spiritual Stones; an ocarina keychain and coasters
Spain GAME; FNAC and MediaMarkt A keychain; a sticker set
Germany Otto A keychain
Israel Nintendo Store A choice of poster, Spiritual Stones, sticker set or ocarina keychain
Japan Every store (package, early purchase) An original art card set and an original sticker
Japan Amazon, Animate, AEON Style, Bic Camera and others Store extras such as acrylic coasters, pin badges, a clear poster or a wooden diorama

Bonuses run while stocks last, and stores add or change them; check the store before ordering.

The Direct of Sep 8, 2026 came with a set of products for the series' 40th anniversary. IGN's summary that day runs through them: the Nintendo Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition system with a matching Pro Controller and carrying case, launching on Oct 29, 2026; two real ocarinas later in 2026, a playable one and an electronic one from HORI that plays notes or entire songs at the press of a button; Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo that unlock in-game masks in a retro graphical style, out the next year; and Zelda Notes features for the game in the Nintendo Switch App.

The 40th Anniversary Edition system has a gold Triforce design, shown in Nintendo's minute-long trailer with its dock and green Joy-Con, ending on "Available 10.29.2026". It does not include Ocarina of Time. The 40th Anniversary Pro Controller with a display stand is sold only at Nintendo NEW YORK, Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO and the Nintendo Store, Nintendo says.

The game listens for real ocarinas. In Nintendo's gameplay demonstration, Eiji Aonuma holds up "an ocarina like the one in the game", which will be sold on the Nintendo Store, plays it, and Link plays the song on screen: "The game can even respond to instruments!" Nintendo's recap says both the Playable Ocarina and HORI's Electric Ocarina of Time are recognized by the game. A player can also simply hum a song Link has learned into the Switch 2's microphone (Ocarina songs).

Two new amiibo come in 2027. Producer Hidemaro Fujibayashi introduces Young Link and Young Zelda in the Direct: "These amiibo unlock special in-game masks", and the screen shows both figures and "Available 2027". Nintendo's store page says existing Legend of Zelda amiibo also unlock in-game extras; what each unlocks has not been listed as of Oct 14, 2026.

Also announced for the anniversary, for spring 2027: a LEGO The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Link and Epona set and a Hasbro electronic Master Sword. Zelda Notes, the Nintendo Switch App service with a daily quiz, location hunts and a virtual ocarina, needs no Nintendo Switch Online membership, Nintendo UK says (What's new in the remake).

Other ways to play

The 1998 original is part of Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Classics on Nintendo Switch, which needs a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. It and every other version are on Nintendo 64 original and re-releases and Ocarina of Time 3D.
